January 23rd 2022 Update

The release of Talyn: Rebirth went reasonably well overall. Not great, but not bad either, which is about what I expected, if I’m being honest. It’s a little out of my usual wheelhouse, but that’s how it goes sometimes. Anyway, I’ve got some art to share as well as my usual update.

Phoenix Ascendant is up to about 51,000 words, which is a bit behind where I wanted it to be, but it isn’t bad considering I was sick last week and had a release this week. Hopefully the coming week goes better!

In additional news, I have confirmation from Podium that the audiobook of Adept of Chaos is scheduled to go live on March 1st, 2022. They submitted a pre-order to Audible that should go live soon, but it isn’t up as of the time of this writing. Hopefully it’ll be up soon!

Now, on to artwork. First, we have a piece I commissioned from Jiuge for the omnibus of Beesong Chronicles! It’s the most expensive cover I’ve commissioned to date, but it turned out amazing, if you ask me!

Then we have an art piece by Hyde (AKA Nguyen Uy Vu), the same artist who did the covers of my Mantles of Power series. I asked him to create a piece of Evelyn, and gave him creative freedom to do what he wanted for her outfit and pose. I think this turned out amazing.

I hope you like the art, and that the news is welcome!

  1. Wow, that pic for the beesong omnibus is awesome. So nice to see the whole crew (and the bees in the flowers are a lovely touch).

I like the Evelyn pic also, though I generally assume that Evelyn doesn’t have a open cleavage keyhole in her armor ;)

  2. I agree on the omnibus art! My patrons wanted to see the whole group, and I decided to fold the funds for that in with the omnibus costs to get a better piece. I think it turned out really good!

As for Evelyn… like I said, I gave the artist creative freedom. I suspect there’s either a force field or it closes. I mean, none of the other art of her has her wearing a helmet or gloves!

  3. Are you voing to continue the beesong chronicals. I like the books but wish there was more of Joys adventures.
