June 14th 2020 Update

This past week I finished the rough draft of Hives & Heroism, at a bit over 101,000 words. Overall I’m happy with how it turned out, but now I’m waiting for my Alpha team to read it and give me feedback. I’ve gotten some feedback already which has helped, but I’m waiting on the rest of it.

I’m going to try to get the pre-order up by next week, but the release date is going to be in early August since I was forced to push back the editing date.

In other news, I’ve just begun one of my vacation projects, a meeting between Lilith and Whispering Darkness (chronologically this is in the middle of Queen of Diamonds), and I hope to have it done this week, before I edit Hives & Heroism. It isn’t going to be public for some time, though. I’m also plotting on my other vacation stuff, but for now, things are going to have to wait.

That’s it for this week, though! Everyone stay safe and have fun!

  1. How well Adversed are you in D&D? Is that the word, adversed? Oh well I am running with it.😂

  2. I’m guessing you mean versed, since adverse means unfavorable and the like?

Regarding D&D, I originally got into tabletop roleplaying games with 3.0 D&D (and 3.5 a couple of months later), and I’ve probably got over $1,000 worth of 3.5 books on my shelves just based on the list price. I played it a LOT. Then 4th edition came out, and I figured out a little, then realized it didn’t allow me to run the sort of games I wanted. That was when I switched to Pathfinder 1st edition, which was a spin-off of 3.5 D&D. I ran games in it off and on over around eight years, and was preparing to find another system when they announced Pathfinder 2nd edition, and I’ve since switched to that.

Now, assuming you’re specifically asking about D&D 5e, I know a tiny bit about it. A few of the basics, but I looked at it shortly after it came out, and it was too simple for me. There wasn’t a large enough variety of mechanical options for each class for me, and from what I’ve heard that hasn’t changed much. It’s a good game system, just not really for me.

    Hopefully that answers the question!

  3. Nope, talking about the older stuff.😂 I was going to ask if you could help me come up with a good story line for a book about a Gnoll. After your vacation of course.😂

  4. Ahh, yeah, I only played one session of 2e D&D, and to be perfectly honest, I’ve never cared for gnolls. I’m willing to chat a bit about them, but no promises of anything more.

  5. Okay. 😁 Yeah I just found an article on the Gnolls which flushed them out a bit more, I for the life of me cannot remember the name of the site.😂
