Queen of Diamonds has done well this past week, and thank you to everyone who bought it! I really hope you enjoyed the book, and I’ll get to the next one as soon as I can! If you’re willing, a review would help a lot as well.
On the other hand, Hives & Heroism is up to about 92,000 words, and approaching the end. I’ve got a fair number of things to wrap up, so I’m not sure just how long it’ll be in the end, but I’m looking forward to it!
All that said, not a lot has changed for me. I can definitely tell I need a vacation, though.
I’ll be re-reading Queen of Diamonds possibly in the next week or so – at the moment I’ve some light novels to finish along with 4 or 5 other novels… along with reading the latest Cape High book. I’m honestly thinking that just maybe Amber’s made a serious miscalculation in how she’s handling Lilith, and it would be very entertaining to see her find that out.
Looking forward to seeing more of Joy, too. That’s been a much more upbeat storyline, although there’s certainly ways it could get more than a bit grim. Hopefully you won’t run into another period where things don’t quite gel any time soon.
I’m retired, but I can relate to needing a break to rest, recharge, and take stock of how you want to get to your next destination. Hopefully you’ll be able to get a chance to relax and just chill.
Good journeys!

Oh, I’ve expected Amber to miscalculate where Lilith is concerned since Born a Queen. Amber is a control freak, and the realities of how Lilith was developing… well, a schism has been inevitable. I’ve seen a few comments in reviews about how they think I can’t make up my mind about how Amber views Lilith, but to me it’s been entirely consistent with the plot arc I’ve had in mind.
As for Joy, she’s been a delight to write, for the most part! The final battle of Hives & Heroism started yesterday, and today I might be able to wrap that up. Then I’ll have a couple of chapters of wrap-up to do, and I can move on. Also, yes, I’m deliberately avoiding discussing how the story goes. I’ve been planning this since book 1, and I don’t want to spoil the surprise.
But thank you very much for the kind words! I hope you have fun reading, and I need to actually get to writing before my dental checkup this afternoon.
