So, Hell’s Ascendant is up to a hair over 100,000 words, and tomorrow is 2 weeks from the release of Mortal Gods. The audio version of Mortal Gods is complete and approved on my end, so with any luck, Audible permitting, it’ll come out at pretty much the same time as the ebook.
I will say, writing Hell’s Ascendant has been hard. I’m not sure if it’s the fact Mortal Gods isn’t out yet, if it’s the time of year, or what, but it’s been unusually hard. It doesn’t help that things are finally coming to a climax, and I always am afraid I won’t do it very well. Either way, I’m almost done with it, and hope to have the rough draft done by the end of this week or early next week. That’d be especially nice so I could have it done before heading to NASFiC 2019.
In other news, I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ve commissioned a new cover from Hoang Lap to replace the cover of Ancient Ruins. This isn’t because I dislike the old cover, I might add, but more because I feel that it doesn’t fit my covers these days. I think it’ll be done in the next week or so, and if it goes over well, I may end up commissioning new covers for the rest of the series as well.
I’m really looking forward to sharing the art when it comes out, and I’m also hoping everyone likes it as well. In the meantime, I hope you all have a great week!
