November 4th 2018 Update

Queen of Ice releases a week from tomorrow, which I’m excited for, and The Obsidian Palace is coming along well. How well? Currently it’s at over 38,000 words, and I’m doing more writing today. Partially this is because I’ve decided to sort of participate in Nanowrimo this year (National Novel Writing Month, or something close to that, for those of you who don’t know). Normally the goal is to write a 50,000 word novel from scratch during the month, but the main idea is just to help writers learn to finish their stories, even if they need a lot of work.

My goal is a little different. My goal is to write at least 2,500 words every day this month, for a grand total of 75,000 words or more. That should be enough to either finish The Obsidian Palace or to come close. I figured that since my standard goal of 12,500 words a week would hit the 50,000 word goal anyway, I may as well try to step up my game. Unfortunately, even if I complete the draft of The Obsidian Palace early, the time I’ve scheduled with the editor isn’t until the second week of January, so it won’t be out until mid to late January at the earliest.

Now, in other news, I’m starting to upload all of the Ancient Dreams books on other sites like I did with Lilith’s Shadow today, as they’re now out of Kindle Unlimited. I’m also working on getting hardbacks available via Barnes & Noble, but the Ancient Dreams Omnibus is just a little too long to fit into hardback.

Anyway, that’s it for now!

  1. I have been a hooked fan on your ancient dreams series since I read the first book. The world building was just incredible and I completely adore Sistina and I was wondering if you had any plans to write about some of the other time periods mentioned in your series such as the GodsRage? There is such a timeline there and being able to read the story of Marin just got me hooked on all the history of that world. I hope you write more in that world!

  2. So, yes! After The Obsidian Palace, I’m planning to write Crisis of Faith, a story about the aftermath of Halls of Power, and specifically about Tyria’s church and the characters there. Sistina and Phynis won’t have large roles in the story, but they’ll certainly be present. Now, other time periods don’t have anything specific tied to them yet, but I’ve thought about it.
