I’m up to about 185,000 words on Tempered in Battle and climbing. I’m fairly confident I’ll finish the rough draft this month, but we’ll see when I get there.

On the plus side, I’ve already done several editing passes on the earlier manuscripts, so once I’ve finished Tempered in Battle and have decided where to split the series into individual volumes, I’ll be able to immediately begin the final editing pass on my end (possibly adding some bits here and there, of course, maybe additional scenes). That means publishing the first two volumes should be quite fast on the whole, possibly three.

I’ll admit that this entire process has been a bit stressful on my end, in large part because it’s a completely different strategy than I’ve ever used before. Normally, I write a book, set up the pre-order, and publish about as quickly as I can. It’s faster and gives immediate income. With this, that hasn’t been the case. But we’ll see how I feel after a few months of the books coming out in order.
