I have Tempered in Battle up to ~172,500 words, which is somewhat surprising after my wife got paged ~5 times for work on Thursday night and Friday morning, completely disrupting my sleep schedule. Worse for her, though… but that’s how it goes. I’m getting into what I think is the final stages of the book, but there are at least three major scenes left to the story, each of which is a multi-chapter affair. So… yeah. I hope to finish in September. Crossing my fingers, but we’ll see what happens.

I’ll admit this has taken a lot longer to complete than I’d hoped for, but I also don’t want to rush the story too much, nor to draw it out. This is going to be an interesting experience, since I’ve never waited to publish an entire series until it was complete. I’m hoping it gives me time to get the next projects ready so we don’t have such a long gap between books afterward? I’m looking forward to more time with Talyn!
