As of this writing, Tempered in Battle is up to approximately 49,000 words, and I’m trying to make up a bit of the lost ground from last week. I doubt I’ll manage too much, though. Regardless, it’s coming along well! Behind where I wanted to be, but I lost a day to my eyes getting dilated at the eye doctor, and another due to my muse being fickle.
Anyway, I also got artwork back for book 1 of the trilogy, which I’ve settled on the title Crucible of War for. The art is from a very specific scene, after Elli (Ellinaya)… acquired a warhammer from an ogre. This was illustrated by Mario Wibisono, and I hope you like it!

Great art, she sure looks like she maybe in Evelyn’s league. Very eager to read.

Hmm… if at the same tech level, same amount of training time, and all that… I think Evelyn would lose. Not because she’s less powerful (Evelyn has a higher raw power level due to her Spark), but because Elli is just that scarily talented and a hard worker.

Good, i guess i won’t have to worry much about her safety, that was good about reading Evelyn.

In book 1, she’s in some danger. Resurrection sickness making her more vulnerable in it. That shifts as the story progresses and she returns to her full strength.
