Temple of the Sun is up to about 62,500 words! I’m not sure exactly how long it’s going to be, but currently I feel like I’m at about the halfway point. We’ll see how it goes. I’ve ordered cover art as well, and I’m stoked to see how that turns out! Mario Wibisono will be doing the art, and probably will start this week.
Now, this isn’t something I do often, but I’m mentioning another author’s book! An author I’m acquainted with, Glenn Wright, recently released their first ebook. They’ve been publishing a version of it on Royal Road for a couple of years, under the title Abyssal Road Trip. The first volume of Song of the Phoenix is titled Ashes to Ashes, and I’ve rather enjoyed the series so far.
I haven’t read the edited version yet, which I know underwent heavy revisions to incorporate lessons he learned since starting the series, but I enjoyed the story. The protagonist gets transmigrated into a succubus in the lower planes. It’s a succubus, I’m predictable. It’s also a LitRPG, and gets very dark in spots. Please, don’t go reading it if you’re looking for something lighthearted! In any case, here’s the link again, in case you’re interested. https://books2read.com/u/3yLwRe
Now, for those of you who wonder why I don’t recommend books often? It’s for a few reasons. First, I have to feel like I can honestly recommend the series. Second, I have to remember to do so. Third, I feel like it should be in at least an adjacent genre to what I write. I’d feel really awkward recommending, say… a modern thriller. Not that I generally read those. That said, I’ve another author’s book to take a look at which is releasing soon, and if I like it, I intend to mention it as well.
Have a great week, everyone!
