February 4th 2024 Update

I’ve sent Seed of Chaos to the editor! It’s still about 114,000 words, so I’m pretty sure that’ll be close to the final total. The main delay at this point will be the cover art, but hopefully I’ll be able to release in March rather than April. On the plus side, nothing will keep me from getting it to Podium for them to schedule things!

On another subject, due to scheduling issues, the narration of Obelisk of Blood has been delayed, currently it’s scheduled for early September. Nothing I can really do, so… yeah, it is what it is. Narration on the new version of Ancient Ruins will start this coming week, if I’m remembering right.

Tomorrow I intend to start (possibly finish) re-reading Talyn: Descent in preparation for writing the next book in the series, so there’s that as well. Here’s to hoping it goes well!

In any case, have a wonderful week!

  1. Will owners of the original series need to rebuy the ancient ruins series or will they update over the original versions?

  2. For the ebooks, it’s going to depend on Amazon. They have a very, VERY fuzzy line where if the content of the book has changed more than a certain percent, you have to publish it as an entirely new title rather than updating. I’m not sure whether or not the books will trigger that, as they don’t have a convenient tool that I’ve seen for checking.

For the audiobooks, unfortunately, these will be completely new, and previous owners won’t get the new ones. I wish I could just give it to readers, but ACX (back-end of Audible) doesn’t allow updating the audiobooks that way, from everything I’ve seen.

  5. I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the books!

As for Lilith’s Shadow, going back to it is on my list, but it’s relatively low priority compared to some of my other series, at least right now. I’m hoping to wrap up Through the Fire (the current arc will likely be the last), then maybe, maybe to write another trilogy in Beesong Chronicles. At that point, it’s possible… but we’ll see when we get there. My muse tends to keep focused on future series rather than past ones.
