So, I was really, really hoping I wouldn’t have to say this. They told me that the audiobook of Spells of Old should be out soon… but it isn’t yet. And I have no idea when it’ll be out. I wish I did, and it’s frustrating.
I approved Spells of Old on June 10th, a Saturday. It’s supposed to take 10-14 business days to be approved. It’s now been 25 business days, and I have no clue when it’s going to launch. It could be tomorrow, it could be in a month. I really don’t know, though I’m hoping for tomorrow. I’m not going to say anything more about it until I know, but I’ve emailed them. I’ve done everything I can, but for the time being, this is it for news on the audiobook.

Hopefully there’s some kind of penalty for them in your contact. Avoiding uncertainty seems like a big reason to work with a third party, so delays of an unknown amount + unresponsiveness to queries seems like a big deal. Not to mention potential lost revenue if you were trying to time other sales or marketing around the launch.

Alas, ACX/Amazon makes certain to avoid that. I’m sure it’ll be out eventually, but… *shrugs*
Not much I can do. I’m in contact with the producer, and if it takes too much longer I figure I’ll talk with him to see what options I have.

I have been checking audible 3 times a day for weeks now. I have done it so often the audible search bar now recommends “spells of old” the moment I enter “s” lol. Hopefully it comes out soon :).
Thx for the frequent updates by the way, even if the situation isn’t changing I like being able to check in here and make sure I didn’t just miss the release somehow.

For what it’s worth, I found the support phone number I can call, and if it isn’t out by Monday I’m calling them. Sadly I only found it today, or I’d have called yesterday.
