This week I worked on re-reading Part 3 of the manuscript I already had and deciding if it was salvageable. In the end I think it is, so I started rewriting and updating it to fit how I wanted the story to read. I currently have Born of Chaos up to ~97,500 words, with another nine chapters I can add to it. I expect the revisions to take until this Friday, possibly more if I decide I need to expand enough. To be clear, while I’m not rewriting every paragraph, I’m coming very close to doing so, which is why it takes so long. Even so, just the old version of the remaining chapters would add ~27,000 words, so it’s a lot faster than writing it from scratch!
Once I have that done, I’ll start writing Part 4, which I’m really looking forward to. It’s an idea I’ve had in mind for a while, but I wasn’t sure where or how to fit it into a book without feeling off. I’ve found a way, and I think it’ll make for a sufficiently epic finale for the book. We’ll see how it comes together! I’ll be shocked if I can’t start editing in January.

2 things. Firstly I don’t think it’s taking you long. I’ve always been amazed at the speed you whip out these books and still maintain quality of character and environment. And second just to be sure I’m understanding the last paragraph right, that’s a conclusion to this particular book and not the series? I’m hoping there’s more books to savor with Evelyn later you see

Conclusion to this book, yes. I don’t have a specific conclusion to the Eve of Destruction series in mind.
