November 17th 2025 Update

Okay, I’m home from my vacation, over the cold which ambushed me as soon as I was home, and Amazon finally got up the pre-order for Circle of Ashes. Which is here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FXHMHGLV

I’ve gotten Circle of Ashes back from the editor as well, and went through the changes over a few days. It took me a bit of time to look them over properly, and now it’s formatted and uploaded for release on the 24th. I wish I could’ve gotten it out this coming week, but that just wasn’t going to happen. Especially if I’d gotten sick worse, it would’ve made a bad situation much worse. Anyway, it’s coming out next week, and I’m so excited! Nervous as well, since this may be the final book of Through the Fire, but excited as well.

On another subject, my trip was very interesting. I learned a few things about myself and traveling I hadn’t known, primarily that cruises aren’t my thing. It wasn’t terrible, but neither was it incredible. I just didn’t enjoy the tight schedules on shore excursions, I prefer a much more relaxed trip. But hey, that’s part of why I went on the cruise, to experience it. Also, having seen the Caribbean at night? My respect for sailors who went out to sea on sailing ships has shot upward. When the clouds covered the moon, it was beyond merely dark, and I can’t imagine what they’d be doing. And that isn’t even in the open ocean, which boggles my mind a bit.

Chichen Itza was amazing, even if we barely got an hour and a half there. Incidentally, that’s a large part of what cinched my opinion on the excursions. We had no extra time, and didn’t even have time to get to or read the various placards in front of different structures, let alone see if there was anything we wanted among the shops. All this with us leaving about as soon as the ship let us off, and getting back after dark, only 30 minutes before the all-aboard.

Anyway, I’ll leave it at that. Today, I’m working on Eve of Destruction, tweaking the early chapters of the manuscript I abandoned, the parts I wanted to keep, then getting ready to, uh… spice things up. Evelyn will not be happy.
