Circle of Ashes is up to ~97,000 words, and with the electrical work out of the way I should be able to focus this week. Assuming my muse doesn’t drag me off down a tangent this week, anyway.
In a few words, last week sucked. I couldn’t concentrate on anything, and the rewiring took longer than expected, leading to barely anything getting done. The only thing I did get done was a bit of silliness when the muse dragged me off to write about a character named Sasha. I have no clue where the character really came from, but she was… odd. Maybe I’ll be able to write more about her at some point in the future. The top-level spin of Sasha? Goth elf who was raised by a shoggoth, and is a little insane.
Anyway, have a great week, everyone!

I’d love to do more, but I really, really need to finish Circle of Ashes before doing anything else.
I’ve been comparing her a bit with both Joy and Timmy/Tammy, though.

I only have secondhand Lovecraftian knowledge, but I thought shoggoths were unintelligent. Wouldn’t Sasha, raised by a shoggoth, be like a child raised by wolves?

Oh, I don’t know much about Lovecraftian lore either, I just liked the vague idea, and was going to have it be sapient. Sapient and just a bit (a lot) out of touch with what mortals need to know.
