It’s the end of 2023! That means its time to reflect on the past year, but first, progress report!

Seed of Chaos is up to about 87,500 words. which is less than I wanted, but Christmas really threw me off my game this week. Something about how it went just kicked my butt, so I wasn’t able to focus on writing for most of the week. I’m not sure how this coming week will go either, but we’ll find out.

Now, here’s what my goals were for 2023.

• Write three books – Success! The rather extreme sizes and events of the year slowed me down, but I got all of them done.
• Write the sequel of Embers of War – Failure. I’ve gotten about 85,000 words written on it, but things have slowed me down. Still want to finish the trilogy before publishing it, though.
• Reach my exercise goal every week – Also a failure, I did pretty well for most of the year, then my bike got flat tires several times in rapid succession, including an incident which led to me having to push it home over 3 miles with the flat (it’s an electric bike, so ~50 pounds… not a lightweight). It left me without a fair bit of motivation.
• Put money aside for research trips – Success! This was easy, though.
• Write for Dungeon23 every day – Made it for about half the year, then lost the train of thought and forgot about it. Whoops.

All in all, I did better than I expected to on a few fronts, but not as well as I’d hoped. I’ll share my goals for the new year tomorrow!
