Obelisk of Blood should now be released! As I’ve mentioned before, this is book 4 of the Through the Fire series, and is set two years after the events of The Obsidian Palace. Word of warning, it takes about a dozen chapters to really get going, as I needed to catch people up on what had happened over that time, and set the stage. The rest of the book ended up insane, though. I hope you enjoy it, and if you do, please consider reviewing it!

Those books with the shadow covered spines in the vault are a complete copy of Marin’s codex arn’t they?

Hehe. While an amusing thought, no, they are not. Those are from the same place as all the paintings and items which are obscured.

You were not kidding about things escalating after chapter 12. :D The plot went in an entirely different direction than I was expecting, but I loved it. I hope we’ll get a few more travel shenanigans in the next book, though.

Yeah, it went insane in the story. I was expecting that to happen later, but… it felt like there’d been enough peace and quiet by that point.
As for the travel shenanigans, I dunno. We’ll see how the next book goes, since I’ve got a lot of plot to pack into the next two books. It could get pushed to three more books… I don’t know.

Can’t wait to read this! Will this be getting an audio version?
Also, I was wondering if this is this shares the same world as the Soul Bound books? Because I noticed a lot of similarities with the way magic works and the names of different regions and peoples.

Yes, it will! I recently signed a contract with Tantor (they did the first trilogy). I don’t know when, but it’ll happen.
As for Soul Bound, it’s set in the same world as Through the Fire, yes. They’re both on the same continent, if rather far removed from each other. I think I calculated about a thousand miles, but I don’t remember for sure.
