November 12th Update

Marin’s Codex is up to ~41,500 words, give or take a bit. Going to try to work on it a little today, but I’m guessing this is my winter slump. It may also be because of the sense of pressure the story gives… but who knows? Besides, it’s just excuses. I’m making progress, and expect to be done with the story, and the first revision, by the end of the month.

At that point I’m going to be trying to write out The Falling Shadows, but I’m making no promises there, in part because while I like the idea of the story, it’s never really been as riveting to me as my other stories have been, so that’s an important aspect. Still, it’s important in some ways, as I like the idea of a story set in the final stages of the Godsrage itself. We’ll see how it goes!

Not much else to say this week, save that it was busier than I liked. Oh, and I intend to put up recipes that were used in Born a Queen Wednesday.

  1. Don’t know if it’s just me, but seems like amazon.com is mucking about with their ebook categories. As far as I see the except for the bestsellers LGBT is mostly gone. Some stuff is not working, so I suppose it’s just work and progress and might or might not come back.

    Still annoying. Just shows that it’s a bad idea to give any single company too much influence. Not that I have a working solution for that ^^;

  2. Yeah… the author site I’m a member of is freaking out over it, because it’s completely destroying the income of a lot of authors due to the glitches. It’s hurting my sales too, but there’s nothing I can do about it.

    I have considered going non-exclusive with Amazon, and publishing via Kobo, Smashwords, iBooks, and Nook, but at the moment it isn’t worth it to me, not when I’d take about an 80% pay cut doing it. If a decent option opens up, you’d better believe I’ll look closely at it, though!
